The Atlanta Thrashers have assigned forward Josh Gratton to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell. Gratton, 27, appeared in four pre-season games with the Thrashers, scoring two goals in those contests. He led the team in penalty minutes (29) and tied for the team lead in goals. The 6-2, 215-pound left wing has recorded six points (three goals, three assists), along with 294 penalty minutes in 86 career NHL games with Philadelphia and Phoenix. He has also appeared in 213 American Hockey League games with Cincinnati, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Hartford and Milwaukee, posting 71 points (35 goals, 36 assists) and 840 penalty minutes. Prior to his professional career, the Brantford, Ontario, native played three seasons of junior hockey from 2000-01 to 2002-03, recording 111 points (50 goals, 61 assists) and 489 penalty minutes in 166 games with Sudbury, Kingston and Windsor of the Ontario Hockey League.
