NEW YORK (AP)—New York Islanders forward Pascal Morency(notes) has been suspended indefinitely after leaving the bench to start a fight with Calgary defenseman Dion Phaneuf(notes). The NHL announced the suspension Friday. No date for a hearing has been set. Phaneuf’s hit knocked out Islanders forward Kyle Okposo(notes) in the second period of the Flames’ 5-4 shootout victory Thursday night in an exhibition game. Morency jumped off the bench and charged Phaneuf, starting a brawl that included New York goalie Martin Biron(notes). Okposo remained motionless for more than six minutes. He was immobilized and removed from the ice on a stretcher. Morency was assessed a game misconduct penalty. Source sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=ap-islanders-morencysuspended&prov=ap&type=lgns
